John Flatt, M.D. – Senior Medical Director, Medical Affairs
Bringing more than two decades of experience in pediatric neurology and medical affairs, John Flatt is the Senior Medical Director of Medical Affairs at Emalex Biosciences.
Before joining Emalex, Dr. Flatt served as Medical Director of Scientific Affairs at Marinus Pharmaceuticals, where he led medical strategy, real-world evidence initiatives, and cross-functional medical support for rare epilepsy indications. Prior to Marinus, he held medical affairs roles focused on epilepsy and sleep-wake disorders at Eisai. Dr. Flatt also has extensive experience in clinical practice, including founding Louisiana Child Neurology.
Dr. Flatt completed his Pediatric Neurology Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident, and his Pediatric Residency at the University of Tennessee – Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Life Sciences, Ethics, and Communication from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Throughout his career, Dr. Flatt has been actively involved in clinical care, scientific publications, and medical leadership, contributing to the advancement of treatments for epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders. He holds board certification in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.
